Passion principle

Principles > Passion principle

Principle | How it works | So what?

Principle

Enthusiasm is infectious. If you are passionate about things then others will be too.

How it works

Be enthusiastic about your beliefs and ideas. Be optimistic about success. Talk with confidence and conviction, much as a preacher who gives sermons that would stir the dead.

Emotions are infectious and your enthusiasm will rub off on other people.

Show enthusiasm in your actions, too. Be dynamic and productive, showing how your enthusiasm is grounded in practical results.

Be passionate about your ideas rather than destructive of opposing ideas. Let them wither on the vine for lack of any attention at all. If you are asked about them, be vague and quickly change the subject back to your ideas.

People who are positive are good company and others will thus seek out your company, in which you can promote your ideas further.

So what?

Be enthusiastic about things you want others to gain enthusiasm for too. Be enthusiastic about the people who share your enthusiasm and join you on your mission.

The reverse principle may also be used, being unenthusiastic about ideas you want to kill.
