When you ask people to notice things, they will.

Practice

Tell your subjects what is happening. Watch for signals and them confirm by getting them to notice.

You might notice how your hand is getting heavier.

Link events and even interruptions to things you want to happen.

You may notice that every time you blink, it gets harder and harder to open your eyes again.

Hearing the sounds outside, you may notice how distant they are becoming as you relax more.

Discussion

'Noticing' in this context is typical of suggestion. By suggesting that they notice something, you are assuming that the something in question has happened. The focus is on noticing, not whether or not the truth of what has or has not happened. As a result, if they have not noticed and even if the event has not happened, they will make it happen in order to notice it!
